The 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was on November 28 this year and it was held in Shanghai China. But apparently, officials and organizers of the show had difficulty coordinating with the Chinese government officials before the event could actually take place.

It was reported on Page Six that the annual Fashion show experienced some hiccups after several members of the media were denied travel Visas.

The fashion show featured top-notch supermodels such as Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and also Karlie Kloss.

Reportedly, multiple fashion bloggers had to cancel their work trips to Shanghai after the Chinese government refused to give them Visas.

And then, television producers had to grapple with government bureaucrats over the rights to film in front of the Mercedes-Benz arena where the show was held. One producer said: ‘if you’re going to China, you want to show that you are in China!’

Furthermore, things were complicated when Victoria’s Secret staff were not allowed to send out any press releases until they had been approved by Chinese government officials.

China’s stringent policies on social media as well as the rest of the internet made it hard to share news of the event. One insider said: ‘it’s just a nightmare for all the media trying to cover [the show.] These TV companies are spending a fortune on it, and they don’t even know what they can shoot when they get there.’
